One of the best features about Ventrian's News Article module is the ability to easily add categories, sub categories, and organize your information. You even get the ability to have multiple authors and create custom fields.
In fact if you're reading this article or browsing our blog, you're looking at an example of the Ventrian News Article module in use.
Simple Blog Example
In Ventrian's simplest form, (we're going to be talking about this from a blog perspective) you get 2 sections:
1. List View – showcases something like the title of the blog post, a short summary, and an image.
2. Detail View – This is what you would see when you click on one of the blog posts in the "list" view. Again, just keeping things simple for right now, you would see the blog post's title, image, and detailed text. (What you're reading right now is an example of a "detail" view.
Check out The Rocky Mountain Chalet Blog Page for an example of Ventrian in it's "simplest form."
If you're curious as to what you would see if you wanted to add a new blog post (using The Rocky Mountain Chalet as an example) this is what you would get:

You get easy to fill out fields (Title, main blog text area, image upload, author, and publish date) Once you fill out those fields you'll see your entry automatically be styled to match everything else. That's it...no code and nothing fancy required by the client.
But this is just scratching the surface of what can be done with Ventrian. Check out some of the examples below to see just how far we've pushed this module.
Lawyer Profiles Example
The overall goal for this site was to have a site case that showed lawyers based on location and allowed the client to easily set up lawyer profiles that showcased their practice(s), licensed states, languages, bios, experience and more.
Thanks to Ventrian's ability to add your own custom fields, it was the perfect fit.
Here's a listing page for lawyer profiles

Here's the detailed page of a lawyer:

Here's what the client see's when they create a new profile for a lawyer

There's still a few more custom fields in the live site, than what you see above, but you get the idea. Utilizing the ability to add custom fields, we were easily able to add text boxes, check boxes, and more so the client can easily add loads of information in a way that isn't going to break a complex design.
It's the best of both worlds. Loads of functionality and design, but extreme ease of use for the client to put in information.
Early Childhood Colorado: Complex News & Events Postings
This site uses Ventrian in a more traditional sense, in that they use it primarily for just news and events, but it's a bit more complex than our first example.
Visit Early Childhood Colorado's Hot Topic page for a live example or check out the image below.

Everything you see on that page is using Ventrian in some form or fashion. We have different categories set up to organize content. Within those categories, we were able to define custom icons and styles specifically for a given category.
And it follows the same process as our previous two examples for when the client wants to add more information. Just simple text boxes, check boxes, and so on.
It's March Module Madness Month so if you contact us by the end of April, you can receive 25% off (or up to $250 off) work setting up and coding the Ventrian News Article module. (Design work and cost of module not included in discount)
Don't forget, we're also offering this same deal for the Form & List module and Dynamic Forms.
